In general, nouns in Japanese there is no difference between
singular and plural.
For example:
Hon = a book or books (more than one book).
After the principal sentence or a noun, then we put the word wa ... desu
(now) and wa .... deshita (past).
Sakana wa Kono Takai desu.
We already know that the principal sentence particle WA show, while
desu is a helpful word of a sentence that does not have a verb,
that sentence is true.
